StageCraft - Behind the Curtain
Made for the Pirate Software Game Jam 2024! I'm a solo developer and this was my first attempt at making my own art... so be warned.
Stagecraft is a 2D platformer where the player rushes to activate stage props at specific times during the play. It has an entertaining story and a puzzle to decipher in order to win the game.
Controls:
Keyboard
Movement - Arrow keys / A + D
Jump – W or Space (Hold for slightly higher jump, you’ll need it!)
E – Interact
Gamepad
Movement – Left Stick
Jump – X or A (Hold for slightly higher jump, you’ll need it!)
Interact – Square or Left button
Tutorial:
Run through the back stage to get to levers & switches!
Press "E" to interact with them when they have an exclamation point next to it:
If you don't press it in time, you'll lose.
To solve the two option doors at the end, pay attention to the order of names that appear as you run through the map...

This is tough! I like it! The cut-out art is super neat! The platforming is tight!
One thing. I really want to read what's going on on stage, but I'm busy with platforming. Not sure what to suggest. Maybe voice acting could be implemented?
All in all, very cool!
Thank you so much for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it despite that. You're right, it definitely needs some voice acting or some other design solution.
I'll figure something out to make that more fluid :)
Thanks for the feedback!
I must have died like 15 times maybe more XD. But despite the anger i finished and enjoyed it, even dropped a couple of chuckles here and there. Simple but effective. good job
Hey thanks for checking the game out! The platforming isn't very forgiving so that's understandable xD
Thanks a lot for playing and the feedback :)
